My site-specific installation consisted of photographs of extensions of Gubbio and San Cataldo cemeteries extensions, a cubic installation construction, a votive lamp and a slowly rotating silk flower arrangement. The floor that was partly bedrock created for the installation a space that was more than neutral stage for the exhibition – the brick walls also contained fragments of earlier exhibitions.

The cemeteries I had photographed are part of a trend that started in late 19^th century Italy where the cities of the dead were expected to be grandiose and uniform. Often these cemeteries both follow tradition and look for new seeking for a relation to modernism as well as time before Christianity.
